Autumn Steam Gala 14-16 Sep 2001

   pic 00092311    Later the same day, 9466 pauses at Minehead between duties. This engine was making its final visit to the WSR before withdrawal for overhaul, later this year. Saturday 15-Sep-01.

 
   pic 00092311    Making a return visit to the WSR was GWR (ex Port Talbot Railway) 0-6-0 saddle tank no 813. This unique engine worked a branch mixed train on both Saturday and Sunday. Here it is seen waiting at Minehead before departure with two coaches and a trailing milk tank on the 9.25am to Bishops Lydeard on Saturday 15-Sep-01.

 
   pic 00092311    Resident WSRA pannier no 6412 was used during the middle of the day as the Minehead station pilot, shunting arriving trains from Platform 1 to the bay Platform 2. Here 6412 awaits the next arrival at Minehead on Saturday 15-Sep-01.

   pic 00092311    The final gala visitor was Stanier 5MT 4-6-0 no 45337 on holiday from the East Lancs Railway. 45337 has been a useful and reliable perfromer on the heavier trains during the peak season on the WSR. Sunday 16-Sep-01.
